Thank you for choosing our cabin on Lake Anna for your family vacation or weekend getaway. We hope you will enjoy the magical lake that we have cherished for almost five decades.

We have done everything we can to provide a fun, relaxing, and safe place for you to enjoy with family and friends. If there is anything we can do during your stay to make it more enjoyable, please don’t hesitate to ask. We can’t promise we will be able to accommodate every request, but we will make every effort to do so.

AMENITIES

We have done everything we can to make the home as warm and enjoyable as possible. In the main room on the first level, you will find it opens to a beautiful, covered porch that looks out across the front yard. It is largely surrounded by woods, offering a private, peaceful setting for a morning coffee or afternoon beverage with friends. The family room offers comfortable seating for five, a smart TV, a small game cabinet with vintage board games, and an LED fireplace.

Upstairs the loft has a sitting room with a couch that opens up to a bed on one side and a queen bed on the other. The bedroom opens up to a balcony that looks out over the back yard with a view of the lake. We have provided a small bistro table and seating for two. The room contains a smart TV, a dresser, and ample USB ports for charging devices. The sitting room has a small coffee bar and a workspace, with a desk, monitor & chair (the desk is also a standing desk).

The bedroom downstairs offers a queen bed and built-in shelves and drawers in the custom designed closet. Also on the first floor are one full bathroom and one half bath. The full bath has a large walk-in shower. We ask that you please use the fan while taking a shower to vent the steam outdoors. We will supply ample toilet paper, a bathmat, and plenty of towels. You will also find a hair dryer in the full bathroom. The half bath has a toilet and small sink.

In the back you will find a large deck for grilling and outdoor dining. The deck overlooks a patio with a fire pit offers a great view of the lake. We keep a healthy supply of split wood by the fire, and you are welcome to use wood from any of the wood stacks on the property. On the side of the house is an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. It may not be available during colder months, particularly December, January, and February.

ACCESS TO THE HOME

The side door is equipped with a keypad dead bolt lock. Within 24 hours of your arrival, you will receive an exclusively assigned code for the lock. Simply type in your code using the keypad and press the lock button to unlock the door. It can be locked from inside by turning the dead lock. To lock it from the outside, simply close the door and press the lock button. You should hear it lock.

In addition to the side door, there are two doors that open to the front porch and one upstairs that opens to the back porch. You will not have a key to any of these doors. They need to be locked and unlocked from inside. The only door you will be able to lock and unlock from the outside is the side door. Your access code will work the entire time that you are there.

USEFUL TIPS – PLAN AHEAD

  • The Kitchen… We are asked on the regular how well the kitchen is stocked. We believe we have stocked it very well. All the plates, bowls, pans, trays, dishes, cutlery, small appliances, etc. that most people typically need are provided. However, if you are planning to make something unique – the requires a special kitchen gadget, we may or may not have it. So please bring it with you.
  • Spices, oils, etc... Likewise, we try to keep the kitchen stocked with common cooking spices, oils, and other products like aluminum foil, paper towels, etc. However, we cannot promise they will always be fully stocked. So, if there are certain things you KNOW you will need, please bring them. (And if you forget, the convenience store is a few minutes away.)
  • Coffee… There are two Keurig style coffee makers in the home – one in the kitchen and one in the loft. We try to keep them both stocked with k-cups, creamers, and sweeteners, but if you have special tastes, we welcome you to bring your own.
  • Bring your game system. The home has two smart TVs, but no game systems. If you have kids who like to play games, they’re welcome to bring their own.
  • Firewood… There is PLENTY of wood on the property to burn in the fire pit. We try to keep a stack of split firewood by the fire, but if it runs out, help yourself to any of the wood you find stacked on the property or anything in the woods.
  • Bring your Cornhole… People often ask if there is a place to set up cornhole. A resounding YES! There is plenty of flat ground for cornhole and other yard games.
  • Hanging Chairs… We have three hanging chairs for the front porch. They are in one of the small closets upstairs. Feel free to help yourself. (Please return when finished.)

GENERAL RULES.

  • This is a NON-SMOKING home. No exceptions.
  • Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. We are in a quiet neighborhood. Please be respectful of neighbors.
  • Please no muddy shoes in the house.
  • There’s an outdoor shower/changing room on the side of the house. We encourage/welcome you to use that to help us keep the inside clean and dry.
  • Please help us avoid plumbing problems. We kindly ask you to please place things like sanity napkins in the trash bin we’ve provided in the bathrooms.
  • Also, please be sure to wipe food particles off plates with a paper napkin before hand washing or placing into the dish washer.
  • There is NO sink disposal in the kitchen. Please put uneaten food in the trash.
  • There are plenty of trash cans with liners. ALL TRASH must be placed in bins in the driveway IN BAGS. Our trash service will not take trash if it’s not bagged.
  • Please no use of illegal drugs and/or controlled substances on the property.

Please NO SMOKING.

MISCELLANEOUS

Occupancy:

We understand that for a number of reasons, you may want additional guests to visit or stay in the house that were not on the original reservation. If this comes up, please contact us to let us know ASAP. We will accommodate wherever possible. However – no parties, no weddings (yes, it has happened!), no bands, etc. The homeowner association has strict rules on occupancy based on the number of bedrooms per unit. While we have multiple sleeping options so that people can spread out, we are still limited by the by-laws on total number of occupants.

Behavior:

If you’re coming to Lake Anna to party and have fun you’ve picked a great place to do so. Let’s just not be loud and obnoxious in the process. We’re sure it won’t come to it. However, if we do receive complaints of loud or unruly behavior, it will result in you being asked to leave. Not good for you. Not good for us. We spend a lot of time in this home and have wonderful neighbors. Let’s help keep them “friendly neighbors”.

Pets:

Please no pets unless approved in advance. If your pet is with you and we didn’t discuss it, please let us know. We will likely hear about it from a neighbor or see you when we float by on our boat, so give us a heads up. Pets must be crated if left alone unattended, and on a leash when outside. Please scoop the poop and place into trash bags. Excessive pet hair removal or damage will be charged upon check out. (Please note, ALL trash placed in the large bin near the garage must be in large, sealed bags. Please DO NOT throw small bags of dog waste in the large bin. They need to be in the large bags that you bring from the house.)

Security:

To ensure the full safety of our furnishings and our guests’ belongings, we ask that all exterior doors be locked as a precautionary measure when leaving the property or out on the lake. We have never had any “incidents” and consider it to be an incredibly safe street. But no reason to take chances when no one is at the home.

Damage:

We understand that accidents happen. But we do ask that you please let us know when they do. Chances are we can fix them as effortlessly as possible which also means a smaller, or zero, damage charge made to you.

Parking:

You are welcome to park wherever you like between the house and the street – on the driveway or the grass. We simply ask that no cars go beyond the driveway towards the lake – on either side.

You are also welcomed to store your boat or jet ski trailer on the property while your rental is active. Please NO RV TRAILER PARKING or TENTS of any kind on the property at any time.

Have we mentioned Trash:

Please place all trash in the large bin in front of the garage. All trash MUST BE PUT IN LARGE KITCHEN BAGS AND TIED before being placed in the large bin.

TRASH IS SCHEDULED TO BE PICKED UP ON WEDNESDAYS. (Subject to change)

Lawn Service

The lawn is mowed once/week. Currently this occurs on Wednesdays or Thursdays but is subject to change due to weather and other circumstances. We appreciate you making room for the lawn company when they are on sight.
